Going Back to School

Jaime Hayon’s outstanding interior design portfolio includes his playful Ikebana vase collection for Fritz Hansen. Four of these vases were auctioned off at House of Fritz Hansen in Senopati on Tuesday, August 21, at a gathering for VIP customers. The event was supported by Bang & Olufsen and attended by Jacqueline Zhao-Jing Huang, wife of the Ambassador of Denmark. The aim of the event was to raise funds for One Fine Sky Foundation (Yayasan Angkasa Biru Indonesia), which works to enable underprivileged children to obtain a good education. Yuni Jie and Claudia Halim, the foundation’s founders, say that more than 35 percent of school absenteeism here is caused by financial and economic factors, a major issue in a developing nation, with many parents still struggling to cover the costs of uniforms and textbooks. The guests enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by Chef Fernando Sindu of Benedict and Seven Friday Space.
