Louis Vuitton’s latest capsule collaboration features former Vogue art Director Grace Coddington, a long-time friend of the fashion house’s Creative Director, nicolas Ghesquiere. The collection was inspired by their beloved furry companions, in which Coddington further explained to Gotham magazine, “It was obvious that it was going to involve cats, but I very much wanted to involve his dog, Léon, too. We’d been talking about doing something together for about three years, and when I left Vogue to go freelance, we finally could.” Coddington’s illustrations of the furry animals are playfully displayed across a selection of accessories and readyto-wear. Classic Louis Vuitton pieces such as the Speedy and neverfull Bags are given an imaginative twist, while new clutch bags and other small leather goods take on smiling, cartoon forms.
