Three Stylish Christmas Gatherings
Ronald Liem, Prestige Indonesia Publisher and Editor-In-Chief, welcomed 110 stylish guests over three days - Monday, December 3 to Wednesday, December 5 – as the magazine inaugurated its annual Year-End Luncheon series with three memorable Christmas-themed gatherings at the Sea Grain Restaurant &Bar at Double Tree by Hilton Jakarta - Diponegoro. Welcoming his guests, the Publisher thanked them for their loyal support of the magazine, which celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2019.
By 12 noon on each of the three days, the guests, dressed in stunning red, green and gold, were arriving at the hotel and stepping onto the red carpet. They first made a stop at the famed Prestige Wall of Fame, where the magazine’s photographers and videographers captured them in their alluring attire. Sexy Santa also made a welcome appearance to enliven the photo session.
Shoot completed, the guests proceeded to the restaurant, which had been decorated with a whimsical Christmas theme. Ronald personally greeted each of the guests as they entered the dining room, catching up with old friends and welcoming new ones.
The guests enjoyed pre-Luncheon canapes from the Sea Grain Restaurant & Bar: oxtail croquetas with caramelised onion, watermelon marinated in sangria and bread toast with olive oil, chocolate mousse and sea salt paired with melon, mint, lime and honey drink. Many guests chose to mingle at the Prestige Photo Booth, while others opted for special hand massages courtesy of Sulwhasoo.
The Prestige Year-End Luncheon partners included The Time Place, Indonesia’s leading retailer of luxury timepieces. The first retail chain developed by Time International, The Time Place opened its inaugural boutique at Plaza Senayan in 1999. Led by its excellent boutique representatives and true to its “Value. Knowledge. Choice” slogan, The Time Place offers customers not only a wide selection of timepieces, but also a world-class shopping experience that enables them to explore the wonderful world of horology in great depth.
South Korean luxury beauty brand Sulwhasoo was founded in 1966. It was created as a holistic beauty brand using Asian medicinal herbs, such as ginseng. Today, the brand focuses on developing comprehensive skincare solutions that address problems at their roots, using modern science to rediscover thousands of precious ingredients known in Asia for centuries. The Sulwhasoo Beauty Package was a door prize and each of the guests received a Sulwhasoo Goodie Bag.
Meanwhile, at its booth, Double Tree by Hilton offered great deals for those who wished to get away for the Christmas and New Year break. Located away from Jakarta’s heaviest traffic, yet near the CBD and the Golden Triangle, the hotel is within easy reach of many embassies, government offices and upscale shopping malls. Markets, restaurants and other leisure options are easily accessible.
MC Aimee Juliette requested the guests to take their seats as the meal was about to start. During the luncheon, each of the partners made engaging presentations: “Culinary Explorer” by Double Tree by Hilton, “Beauty Enthusiasts” by Sulwhasoo and the “Fashionista Programme”, a trunk show, by The Time Place.
The meal began with a heartwarming welcome speech by the Publisher. He also took the opportunity to thank the magazine’s loyal supporters, readers and advertisers, without whom the three Luncheons would not have been possible. Ronald also paid a special tribute to the highsociety ladies Prestige had photographed and interviewed during 2018, including some of the new faces who had helped bring a fresh look to the magazine.
Next, the guests enjoyed a video about Double Tree by Hilton as the Official Venue Partner of Prestige Year-End Luncheon. This was followed by a welcome speech from Nils-Arne Schroeder, Regional General Manager Indonesia for Hilton and GM of Double Tree by Hilton Jakarta-Diponegoro. Sea Grain Chef de Cuisine Alvaro Bonache Utiel then told the guests about his Festive Christmas-Inspired Lunch Set Menu with a Mediterranean Touch.
The luncheon began with an appetiser and salad, magic olives and goat cheese salad with red fruits, and continued with pumpkin soup. While waiting for the main course, the guests were invited to take a close look at and to try on a magnificent selection of luxury timepieces and jewellery display curated by The Time Place and Time International.
The main course then came in: braised beef cheek cannelloni with truffle and porcini mushroom cream, paired with Jacob’s Creek Red & White Wine from Pernod Ricard Indonesia and Martell NCF. While the guests enjoyed the main course, Sulwhasoo gave a presentation about secret Asian beauty wisdom and the benefits of ginseng for a youthful look.
The dessert was a fruit plate with mint sorbet and passion fruit jelly. As the guests enjoyed dessert, The Time Place made a trunk show presentation of curated timepieces and jewellery.
