JOHN HARDY
ESTABLISHED SINCE 1975 in Bali, John Hardy is dedicated to the creation of ultimate beauty through artisan handcrafted jewellery. Honouring original crafts through the contemporary interweaving of modernity and traditions, the master artisans create timeless one-of-a-kind pieces that are eternally cherished.
Founded as an artisan collective, John Hardy is still rooted in community and partnership. At its vertically integrated workshop, designers, executives and artisans work and dine as a community. The Jobs for Life programme offers vocational training through apprenticeships for Indonesians and prepares them for a place within that same community.
Utilising reclaimed silver, which minimises the impact of mining new raw materials, John Hardy also uses traditional Indonesian artisanal techniques in the making of its jewellery. This allows the brand to preserve them for future generations and continue the love beyond one timeline. As John Hardy grows and evolves, the brand honours the Balinese practices that inspired the founder and the artisan care used to create each piece.
At the heart of the brand, John Hardy’s Workshop and Kapal Bamboo Boutique is built from low-impact materials that would enable them to return the surrounding land to rice fields within months, while the new Seminyak Boutique & Gallery is a Balinese home that offers sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the outside world.
Built with an open concept, John Hardy cordially welcomes all who would like to see the loving process of jewellery making at the Kapal Bamboo Workshop & Boutique in Mambal, Bali, or experience the relaxation of the senses at its Seminyak Boutique & Gallery, as the guest can also taste items from the Kitchen & Jamu Bar while relaxing to the sounds and visions from the exhibition pieces the brand offers.
