POWER DUO
Raf Simons, formerly Creative Director of Christian Dior and Calvin Klein, has joined Prada as Co-Creative Director with Miuccia Prada. They will share equal responsibilities for the women’s and men’s collections. “I’m extremely happy to start this new phase. It’s certainly going to be extremely exciting,” said Miuccia, one of fashion’s great auteurs and a billionaire businesswoman, in Vogue. “We like each other, we respect each other, and we’ll see if we go somewhere.” For his part, Simons said that Prada is “a brand I’ve been interested in my whole life. I’m not closing my own business, I always look for new challenges in my life. Mr. (Patrizio) Bertelli (CEO of the Prada Group) approached me right after my exit from Calvin Klein.” Coronavirus permitting, the first fruits of Prada and Simons’ new partnership will be seen on the runway in Milan in September.
