Ike Nirwan Bakrie, founder of Rumah Pesona Kain, welcomed guests to Kudus Hall at Hotel Sultan for Seribu Warna Kain Nusantara 2020, a fashion show to present the richness of Indonesian traditional fabrics. Held on Wednesday, February 19 the show featured the work of designers Ari Seputra, Chossy Latu, Ghea Panggabean, Itang Yunasz, Oscar Lawalata, Priyo Oktaviano and Rosalindynata G. Bakrie. They showcased creations such as Tenun Songket Puri Agung from Bali, Tenun Songket Minangkabau from West Sumatra and Tenun Ikat Sutra from West Java. Ike expressed her hope that the public would recognise and pay more attention to Indonesia’s heritage, stating: “Through this collaboration, I hope that more people will fall in love with Indonesian traditional fabrics and become aware that our culture can go global.”
