EDITOR’S LETTER
There is perhaps a bit of irony in the way that the pandemic we’re currently in has become one of the greatest motivators for us to pay more attention to our health. As we continue to face social distancing mandates, lockdowns and the ever-present sense of uncertainty of a global crisis, we have been compelled to be more attentive to our physical fitness, our constitution and our psychological or mental wellbeing.
In the past several issues, Prestige has featured personalities who rose to the occasion by helping others stay safe and weather the worst of the pandemic. We’ve also highlighted entrepreneurs, businesspeople and others who have not only survived, but actually thrived, in the face of a global health crisis. So, I think it is only fitting that now we give prominence to those who can help us heal. We reconnected with Elbert Tiwa to talk about his gym, with Richard Kyle to talk about the joys and merits of bicycling, and finally with Esti Nurjadin for a chat about her work with the Indonesia Heart Foundation as well as about her insights into staying healthy. And for those of us in need of a more, shall we say, curated journey towards wellbeing, we also have a round-up of some of the best wellness resorts you can visit.
On an unrelated note, I’m sure that by now you’ve also noticed that we’ve once again teamed up with Oppo to create a cover and accompanying fashion shoot using the brand’s latest smartphone. If our September issue highlighted what is now possible using a phone’s camera, this issue leaves no doubt about just how far mobile technology has gone. Featured on said cover are Nikita Willy and Indra Djokosoetono, who have quite a few stories to share.
So, with that I invite you to once again flip through the pages of this issue of Prestige and discover a wealth of insight into wellness, fashion and much, much more. Happy reading...
