LA DOLCE VITA
The house of Dior invites us for a jaunt to the Riviera through the latest Dioriviera Capsule Collection
THE THIRD RENDITION
of the Dioriviera Capsule Collection, a dolce vita-style wardrobe intended for the holidays designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri, is like an invitation to escape the hustle and bustle of our daily lives to the timeless charm the Mediterranean coastline. The collection is constantly reinvented through the years, but one constant remains: how the house codes are embedded within each iteration. The newest Dioriviera Capsule Collection plays with signatures such as the toile de Jouy to the Dior Oblique motif to create an illuminated women’s ready-to-wear collection, along with leather goods, shoes and accessories in an array of punchy chartreuse and raspberry colour along with pop punctuations from the maison’s Fall 2021 collection.
The irresistible Lady D-Lite, Dior Caro and Dior Book Tote Bags are now dressed in fabric bearing the famous toile de Jouy and Dior Oblique patterns, giving a breezy feel to the whole look. The same thing goes with the D-Connect sneakers, Dior Granville espadrilles and Dway mules.
Meanwhile, the ready-to-wear DiorClub ponchos and towels can be worn over sailor tops, shorts and shirts, while scarves, jewellery and visors stand out on their own bearing the names of dreamy destinations. Small clutches and vanity bags – that are made to be worn layered – also come with interchangeable shoulder straps to complete this sunny wardrobe.
But it doesn’t stop there: This season also sees matching summery Dior Maison essentials including a surfboard adorned with the “Christian Dior” signature and a toile de Jouy motif revisited by Maria Grazia Chiuri. A parasol, a hammock, beach games and fans also complement this celebration of the art of living alongside a series of decorative objects, stationery, cushions and placemats.
And finally, the eagerly awaited collaboration between Dior and the storied Italian brand Vespa has materialized after being announced last year. An exclusive emblem of the dolce vita lifestyle, the customizable scooter – the Vespa 946 Christian Dior – is available as a limited-edition release. The scooter comes with an off-white paint scheme, ultramarine blue leather saddle, along with a helmet and a top case embellished with the Dior Oblique motif.
