CARTIER EN TREMBLANT SETTING
Only once in a while does the world get treated to a jewel featuring the “trembling setting” because the technique, born in Paris in the 18th century, is simply so complex and painstaking. Delightfully, Cartier has consistently through the years produced those few rare showpieces that demonstrate this extraordinary craft. More importantly, the maison revolutionised the en tremblant technique for its haute horology arm in 2015 and has since created infrequent and mainly limited editions of watches bearing a variation called the vibrating setting. Seen here on this 35mm white gold automatic Pasha de Cartier watch, whose DIAL flAuNts 318 vIBrAtING brilliant-cut diamonds, the patented setting is invisible to the naked eye and creates a gleaming, pulsating effect akin to hypnotic waves of light.
