TACTILE ROOTS

Acler Creative Directors Julia Ritorto and Kathryn Forth have a common goal: to rebel against cookie-cutter digital design and bring the process back to its tactile roots. Each piece in the Acler collection is hand-draped by the designers in a move away from computer-generated 2D design methods. Tailoring, attention to detail and feminine fabrications complement their relaxed, androgynous and oversized sculptural designs. For instance, the Hernshaw Dress in Turmeric is cut to be fitted through the waist, but is relaxed at the sleeves and towards the hem with an adjustable wrap drape detail.
