Paying Tribute
March 11 saw a collection of 35 paintings showcased in an exhibition held by Yayasan Seni Rupa Indonesia (YSRI). The exhibition was held to display works from Kompetisi Nasional Seni Lukis Remaja 2021-2022 and was initiated by the Chairwoman of YSRI, Titiek Soeharto. The theme decided by the committee of the competition was “100 Tahun Jenderal Besar HM Soeharto, Bapak Pembangunan Indonesia,” to pay tribute to the national figure. Held since 2021 and finally announced this March, the competition collected 100 artworks from emerging young artists aged between 13-18 years old from 10 provinces, including Jakarta, West Java, East Java, Central Java, South Sulawesi, Kalimantan, Aceh, Riau, Bali and East Nusa Tenggara. These works were then displayed at the secretariat of YSRI in Setiabudi, South Jakarta.
