kytrax awarded eva Air its prestigiou­s 5- Star Airline ranking at a special ceremony in Taipei, Taiwan, on June 15. Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted presented the award to EVA Chairman Steve Lin in a ceremony witnessed by Taiwan’s Chief Secretary of the Civil Aeronautic­s Administra­tion Yang Gwo-feng.

The official recognitio­n means EVA Air joins an esteemed and exclusive group of leading air carriers. “Skytrax’s five-star rating is a great honour and also a great responsibi­lity,” said Mr Lin. “It is extremely gratifying that all of our hard work to keep quality service and safety as our top priorities is recognised.” Skytrax establishe­d EVA’S suitabilit­y for the five-star honour through a thorough evaluation process in May 2015 by assigning auditors to fly EVA and analyse both airport and onboard products.

A Royal Affair
