AMake Up: Dress/clothes: Stylist: from the sale of pink ribbon pendants at Wanda House of Jewels will be donated to the Indonesian Breast Cancer Foundation to perform mammograms for more than 1,000 Indonesian women who live on the poverty line. “My husband and my brother were both diagnosed with cancer a few years ago and due to my own experience with the disease, I know exactly how a family would feel if their loved ones suffered from it,” says Wanda.

“I was the one who was with them through it all and witnessed how cancer can eventually be treated. Therefore, it was always in me to want to spread that message, and when I had the chance of communicating this with Linda, I saw it as a great opportunity for both of us.”

With such a great cause, both Wanda and Linda tell us the support they received from the partners, as well as the muses, was more than expected. “Plaza Indonesia, Indonesia Tatler and the muses in this photo shoot went out of their ways to ensure the success of this campaign, and for this we are truly grateful. This isn’t simply a project between Indonesian Cancer Breast Foundation and Wanda house of Jewels, but a project of togetherness,” Wanda says.

The Indonesian Breast Cancer Foundation, along with Dharmais Cancer Hospital, has also developed Mobile Mammography—a van with digital mammogram technology that reaches out to people on the streets. The initiative began in 2005 and has evolved throughout the years, performing more than 700 street check-ups in 2015.

To conclude our inspirational chat, Linda says: “We are placing continuous efforts on breast cancer awareness, and we hope through this campaign we are not only helping women, but educating them in the importance of undertaking regular mammograms.”

Maria Lukito (Bureau Chief of Indonesia Tatler and Commisioner of Mobiliari Group) “Do not be afraid of the word ‘cancer’, because it isn’t the end of the world. Cancer can be cured and we can fight it!” “Always take care of each other and look out for each other. Together, let’s show our endless support towards every breast cancer warrior out there.”

“To all beloved cancer warriors: We are stronger together, never give up the fight, we are all here for you.. Fight!”

Hendra Nugraha (VP Founder Celebrity Fitness) “Never give in, never give up. Don’t be a victim, be a survivor.” “I believe all the FIGHTERS and the SURVIVORS are worth all the support and admiration from all of us. Never ever give up.”

Patty Kaunang (Socialite) “When diagnosed, cancer is only a phase in life. It isn’t permanent. That’s all we need to keep remembering.” “Breast cancer has left me with a huge scar. It sucks! It’s not fair!! Why me?!! But this scar isn’t purely physical. It also tells many stories. Stories of paralyzing fear, of excruciating pain, of being an incomplete woman. Stories of the transformation of my beliefs and myself. And finally the stories of survival. The scar that I wear is a testimony to the war I waged.. War against breast cancer. And I won!

Mia Egron (Chief Operating Officer of PT Plaza Indonesia, Tbk.) “Many thanks to Wanda House of Jewels and Yayasan Kanker Payudara Indonesia for this noble collaboration to provide free mammograms to 1,000 underprivileged women in Jakarta.”

Wanda Ponika (Founder & Creative Director of Wanda House of Jewels) “In my life, I have witnessed how my loved ones fought with cancer and bravely defeated it. So please never stop believing. This is a fight you can win.”
