Indonesia Tatler exclusively caught up with the master franchise-owners of EMK in Indonesia—indonesian singer and songwriter Maia Estianty, Indonesian actress Cathy Sharon, and Dr Rininta Christabella—to learn more about the brand and the beauty lounge, which will be launched at the end of February.

Can you tell us about the background of EMK?

The EMK skincare brand name originated from the founder’s name, Professor Emilia Karsh, who is a pioneer in placental research. She started developing the EMK formulations in the 1970s in Beverly Hills, California. Her intensive research and innovations led to many breakthrough discoveries in the skincare field. Since then, EMK has positioned itself as the worldwide leader in anti-ageing botanical placenta skin treatments.
