Indonesia speeds onto the world Motogp stage

-

Hold on to your helmets as Motogp is coming to Indonesia. With the completion of the Vinci Motogp track in Lombok on the horizon, a new Indonesian race has been announced as part of the official Grand Prix of 2021. Both Finland and Mexico were vying for a spot this year but were not allowed to join the 19 eligible countries at this time of selection.

The eventual inclusion of Indonesia will open up a number of possibilities in one of the largest two-wheeler markets. Not since September 28, 1997, on the Sentul Circuit, has the country had the opportunity to join the world stage. The track is expected to cost around US$500 million and will be subsidised by outside investors. It is believed that it will attract more than 100,000 foreign tourists and produce billions for local economies.
