The Zumi bag from Gucci’s latest creations will jazz up any outfit
Zumi Rosow, in many ways, embodies Gucci’s Creative Director Alessandro Michele’s version of beauty, which is inextricably linked to an individual’s personality and attitude. The Gucci Zumi, Gucci’s latest handbag creation, is a stylish and practical accessory that combines two of the most historical House motifs—the interlocking G and Horsebit hardware. The detail in this is a mix between gold- and silver-coloured metals has been replicated from a rare piece
in the Gucci archives, which was chosen by Alessandro for its contemporary appeal.
The Gucci Zumi also comes in a sophisticated top-handle version that has distinctive double-lift lock closures and which is available in two types of leather—smooth and grainy—and in a variety of dress colours. This style also comes in precious skins of python and elaphe, ostrich, and crocodile. The top-handle Gucci Zumi in grainy comes in medium and small, and all of the bags have been designed with a detachable and adjustable leather shoulder strap. The bag also comes with convenient zipped compartments and pockets inside.
Zumi’s unconventional, modern, and free-spirited nature has been identified and especially portrayed through the collection of Gucci Zumi handbags.
Next on the list would be the Gucci Zumi shoulder bag—a new shape that is available in small and mini, the two sizes apt for an evening accessory. The shoulder bag features the interlocking G as well as the Horsebit hardware but has only been created in smooth leather. The bag comes with detachable strap, enriched by Marina chain details and an adjustable top-handle and a rear pocket. By detaching the strap, the bag turns into a clutch, revealing the true potential of a day-to-night bag.
The spring/summer 2019 show also presented a revamped small Gucci Zumi tote inspired by a vintage Gucci bag from the 60s. Unlike the rest, this one only comes in exclusive crocodile and lizard skins—one for keeps in the premium collection. A double sliding chain strap and sophisticated internal construction to help with the organization of contents, enrich this bag.
Last but not least, the collection features versions of the medium top-handle and mini shoulder bag in a lively, pop Gucci Strawberry print.
Zumi’s creative force and personal aesthetic perfectly expresses the different facets of her character—much like the variety of Gucci Zumi’s spring/summer 2019 collection. In addition to being a jewellery designer, Zumi sings and plays a variety of instruments in the two bands she is a member of.
