Tatler Indonesia

Family values come first

-

Greetings and welcometo halfway through the year and our Eid al-fitr edition. If you’re reading this during the long holiday, enjoy it and make sure you pay respect to your elders. While this is a time of celebration, it’s also a time when you should appreciate what you have, and also consider those who are less fortunate in life. Turn to our inspiring cover story, “Family First”, which details the journey that Zannuba Ariffah Chafsoh, or Yenny Wahid as we all know her, takes every year and the family values she instils in her daughters.

Towards the end of this month, we’ll all be back at work and looking forward to the second semester of 2019. Time really does fly when you’re having fun—and the world of Indonesia Tatler is all about fun, albeit sophisticated, sensational, and, of course, sustainable. This issue, we are also presenting you with something special: a supplement dedicated to the fast-paced city of Surabaya. Inside you will also discover plenty of style tips and tricks straight from the runway special for the gents in your life to get ready for summer.

Speaking of summer and the holidays, back in the magazine, we also take a surfing break to Siargao in the Philippines as one of

my favourite Indonesia Tatler writers, Nanda Haensel, heads to the beach in search of the perfect wave. Long known as a secret hideaway for those in the know, my advice to you now would be to head there before the crowds turn up also looking to harness the incredible power of the ocean. Travel is a big part of this issue, but I’ll leave you to delve into the magazine to discover the finest experiences you can have in this part of the world and beyond.

What more is there to say other than I hope your holidays and family events are always full of love and laughter. After all, that’s what life is all about. Happy reading!
