Rolex’s Oyster Perpetual Day-date shows how a classic stays evergreen
Since 1995, Roger Dubuis has been at the forefront of Haute Horlogerie, committing to only using the finest watchmaking mechanisms to create bold sophistication. Its innovative mindset and forward thinking granted Roger Dubuis the Geneva Seal, better known prestigiously as the Poinçon de Genève, in all of his watches. The latest to join this stunning list is the Excalibur Blacklight Trilogy timepiece.
With its newest launch of the Excalibur Blacklight Trilogy, a contemporary model of the iconic RD820SQ Calibre, the Swiss watchmaker continues to live up to its name as an avant garde haute horlogerie connoisseur as it goes the extra mile, raising the mechanism to the status of an artform and creating a watch that is literally lit.
The Excalibur Blacklight Trilogy is made using the signature Roger Dubuis “Astral Skeleton” to create microstructures of geometrically-shaped, lab-grown sapphires to give them a 3D mechanical effect, and to allow the wearer to see, from both sides, all of its components and layers— in addition to the ability to glow under UV light. Placing a diamond in the centre of it all, its lines, angles, and layers reinforce the illusion of a watch floating in the dark of the night. Finishing it off, the watch is decorated with the Geneva Seal—and rightly so.
As a strong believer in the concept of living larger than life, Roger Dubuis created the Excalibur Blacklight Trilogy in three different colours to suit everyone’s personal style and flair. The 42mm Excalibur Blacklight Trilogy timepiece comes in an 88-piece blue version with a white-gold case, a black alternative in DLC titanium, and a limited-edition 28-piece pink gold that can only be found in exclusive boutiques.
