Mclaren Jakarta and Mclaren Club Indonesia’s road trip across Europe

Over the hills and down the valleys during the waning warmth of the summer season, eight supercars zipped around the idyllic European countryside that had fallen straight off a postcard. The convoy carried 16 members of the Mclaren Club Indonesia (MCI), supported by Mclaren Jakarta and Indonesia Tatler, to explore five countries starting from the Netherlands and moving to Germany, Switzerland, France, and lastly to the Uk—the homeland of Mclaren in London. Having travelled for more than 2,500km, the tour is the longest international touring record for Mclaren Club Indonesia.

On the first day of the tour, all participants began by taking group photos at an iconic windmill in the Netherlands before excitedly beginning their journey on the autobahn toward the Schloss Bensberg Hotel in Germany. Warm hospitality and a delicious dinner awaited the group at the end of a day full of sightseeing and thrilling rides.

The following day, all participants and the supporting team departed from the hotel to head to the first stop at Mercier Winery for a tour and a taste of its finest bottles.

Afterwards, the convoy continued on to a lunch stop at Schloss Leiser before heading to Roomers Baden Baden Hotel in the afternoon. All participants were then invited to a luxurious private dinner at Moriki Restaurant.

On the third day, the convoy departed from the hotel deep into the lush forest for a special photo shoot at the Hochstrasse until it was time for yet another tasty lunch at the Park Hotel Adler Stuben. No rest was in sight, but all members were freshened up as soon as they crossed the Rhine River into Switzerland for a stay at the bespoke Dolder Grand Hotel.

The next day, everyone departed happily after a wellrested night, heading to Lake Luzerne Park Hotel Vitznau as the mid-point prior to entering the Swiss Alps’ Susten Pass for picturesque photo shoots. Onwards they went through the mountain to the much-awaited next destination: lunch at the famed Victoria Jungfrau Hotel. At the end of the fourth day, everyone was happy to enjoy a sleep at the Royal Savoy Hotel, where the Skylounge Panorama Terrace had been booked for wine tasting and dinner.

With last checks done, all departed to cross into France on the fifth day. For the first stop, the line of Mclarens arrived at the beautiful Valley de Joux and then went with their owners for lunch at the Restaurant la Flambee. The highway leading to Southern Champagne was their destination afterward for photos at the famed spots of the region. And before long, night-time fell, and it was time to check into the Hostellerie La Briqueterie to enjoy a champagne tasting.

The last leg and the trip to the final destination began by heading towards London. The day started with a prompt departure from the hotel to the Euro Shuttle Terminal before entering the Euro Train. Arriving in London at lunchtime, all continued their trek to the Mclaren headquarters in Woking and were welcomed by Amanda Mclaren, the only daughter of Bruce Mclaren. A last supper at the Westbury Mayfair London was filled with memorymaking before the end of the whole tour on the seventh day, which closed with an amiable last breakfast together at the Westbury Mayfair hotel.
