Boucheron has unveiled its new Histoire de Style, Art Déco high jewellery collection, which has been designed by creative director and visionary jeweller Claire Choisne. For the diamond-drenched line, Choisne delved into the French house’s abundant art deco archives and championed a profusion of niche techniques and materials. But it’s her Plastron Émeraudes necklace that steals the show. Whisper-thin strands of white gold and platinum are set with 220 emerald beads that weigh a jaw-dropping 1,071.97 carats. They are secured in place by black lacquer and onyx that’s mounted with diamonds. This piece can be worn three ways and can be transformed from a long necklace into a tight choker that cinches at the collarbone, as well as a comfortable bracelet. The most expensive piece from Histoire de Style, Art Déco, this necklace will set you back over US$4 million.
