AMERICAN AIRLINES REPLIES:

For operational reasons, an aircraft scheduled on a specific flight may need to be swapped for another at short notice. American Airlines works hard to limit the impact of such changes to passengers, but in certain cases it does cause disruption to confirmed seating arrangements. This was the case for Mr Peart’s London Heathrow to Santiago flight (via Dallas/ Fort Worth), which affected the amount of Main Cabin Extra seating available.

American Airlines kindly upgraded Mr Peart and his travelling companion to business class for the first leg but it was not in a position to upgrade them on the second one to Santiago. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and have refunded the cost of the Main Cabin Extra seats between Dallas/Fort Worth and Santiago.
