Time travel: H Moser and Cie

THIS SWISS COMPANY isn’t well-known, and only makes 1,200 watches each year – but it’s a historic name, originally dating from 1828, headquartered in Schaffhausen and with in-house movements manufactured in Neuhausen. H Moser and Cie also doesn’t shy away from complications – in this case, a perpetual calendar, a fiendishly difficult trick to master, although Moser has come up with a deceptively simple design. A compact 40.8mm watch, the Endeavour has a centre-hand month indicator (if it’s pointing at 1 it’s January, or 12 it’s December), hour, minute and date hands, an off-centre seconds dial and a power-reserve indicator, useful since the reserve is seven days. Available in several case materials (rose gold, platinum and titanium among others) and dial colours (slate, silver, black, bronze, gold), shown here is the limited-edition white-gold case, sky blue dial with sunburst pattern and kudu leather strap. Priced £40,000;
