HILTON WORLDWIDE has opened the 260-room Doubletree by Hilton London Excel. Formerly a Ramada property, it is located on the Royal Victoria Dock. The group has also opened the Hilton N’Djamena in Chad, the 100th country or territory in which it operates. STARWOOD has launched the Westin Doha. The 365-room hotel is on Salwa Road, close to the central business district, and has six restaurant­s and bars, a 3,000 sqm ballroom and a spa. MINOR HOTEL GROUP, which operates Anantara, Avani and Per Aquum, has bought Tivoli Hotels and Resorts. The move sees the Thai group acquiring 14 properties across Portugal and Brazil, including in Lisbon and Sao Paulo, and a number of resorts in the Algarve. THE CONRAD DUBLIN has begun an

million renovation project. Works will include new design for all guestrooms, and a revamped restaurant and bar. FOUR SEASONS has opened a Foster and Partners-designed property in Casablanca. Located on the Boulevard de la Corniche, the 186-room hotel is ten minutes from the business district. STARWOOD will open a Luxury Collection hotel in Tokyo in July. The 250-room Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho will be housed in the mixed-use Tokyo Garden Terrace developmen­t in Kioicho. The group has also announced a W property for Madrid, to open in a 19th-century building on the Plaza Canalejas in 2018. INTERCONTI­NENTAL HOTELS GROUP (IHG) has announced that its first Kimpton hotel outside of the Americas will be in Amsterdam. (IHG bought Kimpton last year.) The Crowne Plaza Amsterdam City Centre will become a 270-room Kimpton property in 2017. CARLSON REZIDOR is to open a 160room Radisson Red hotel in Guangzhou’s Panyu district in 2018. FOUR SEASONS AND STARWOOD have announced Jakarta properties. The 125-suite Four Seasons Jakarta is due to open in mid-2016 in the Capital Place developmen­t in the Sudirman central business district. The 280-room St Regis Jakarta and 164-unit the Residences at the St Regis Jakarta will launch in 2019.
