NOBU HOSPITALIT­Y has opened the Nobu Hotel Shoreditch in London. Located off Great Eastern Street, the 150-room property has a 240-seat Nobu restaurant along with a spa, gym, event space and public “pocket garden”. THE TRAFALGAR HOTEL in London is set to be rebranded as the Trafalgar St James under Hilton’s Curio Collection. Located on the south side of Trafalgar Square, the 145-room hotel is undergoing refurbishm­ent and is due to relaunch this autumn. YOTEL has opened a Boston property. Located in the Seaport district, it has 326 “cabins”, a club lounge and a 12th-floor rooftop restaurant and bar. A 204-cabin Amsterdam property is planned in late 2019, in the Amsterdam Noord area of the city. RENAISSANC­E HOTELS has opened a property at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson airport. Connected to the airport via Skytrain, it has 204 rooms and a restaurant serving southern American comfort food. MARRIOTT INTERNATIO­NAL has opened the Ritz-Carlton Astana near the Kazakhstan capital’s Bayterek Tower monument. It has 157 rooms, including 32 suites and 27 residences, plus three restaurant­s, a spa and a 14th-floor club lounge. The group also plans to open a cinema-themed Aloft hotel in Dubai next year. The Aloft Dubai City Centre Deira will have 304 rooms and an outdoor cinema. CONRAD HOTELS AND RESORTS has opened the Conrad Guangzhou. Located in the city’s Zhujiang New Town business district, the hotel occupies 27 storeys overlookin­g the Pearl River, which can be seen from many of its 309 rooms and suites. MELIA HOTELS INTERNATIO­NAL has opened the Melia Shanghai Hongqiao. A ten-minute drive from Shanghai Hongqiao airport, it has 187 rooms, an all-day restaurant, event space, a spa, gym and pool. The group is also set to open the 207room Innside Melia Hamburg Hafencity this July. SHANGRI-LA has launched the Hotel Jen Beijing. Located in the China World Trade Centre tower in the city’s central business district, it has 450 rooms, an all-day restaurant, a gastropub and a 3,500 sqm fitness centre with a gym, pool and boxing ring. SWIRE HOTELS is to open the Middle House hotel in Shanghai. Part of the HKRI Taikoo Hui mixed-use developmen­t in the Puxi district, the 111-room property is due to open at the end of 2017, joining the Opposite House in Beijing, the Upper House in Hong Kong and the Temple House in Chengdu. ACCORHOTEL­S is expected to open the Sofitel Dubai Wafi in late 2019. It will have 501 rooms, including 86 suites, ranging in size from 55 sqm to 625 sqm, in addition to 97 studio and one-, two- and three-bedroom serviced apartments.
