Airline and hotel news from around the world

IT WAS ANOTHER UP AND DOWN MONTH FOR BRITISH AIRWAYS,

and not just in terms of aircraft taking off and landing. First there was welcome news for short-haul business-class passengers. The airline’s Club Europe cabin saw new menus with improved recipes, signature warm breads and “a commitment to provenance, with dishes developed around British ingredients.” Launch options included shaved Herefordshire Roast Beef on a Tartar Cream with Rocket, British Reared Pork Sausage and Mash and a celebration of British cheeses. Looking to the future, BA has also confirmed it is to switch caterers in all cabins on its long-haul routes departing Heathrow. The carrier is to drop current supplier Gate Gourmet in favour of high-end caterer Do&Co, in a phased switch between now and early 2020. So far so good...
