BRITISH AIRWAYS ROLLS OUT TROLLEY REPLACEMENT
BRITISH AIRWAYS IS MAKING CHANGES TO ITS CLUB WORLD MEAL PROVISION
starting from this winter. The restaurant-style service, which included new caterers on many routes, was introduced in 2017 and has been rolling out across the long-haul network since. Speed of service was a problem, however, as identified in our review in 2017 (see businesstraveller.com). Now the airline has responded to feedback and will remove the trolley service. Instead, there will be a priority order at beginning of service; a separate meal and drink order (as per the original service routine); starter order taken with main meal order; starter and dessert delivery fully hand-run; special meals delivered at the same time as standard meals; and the removal of the service trolley and wine bowl.
Meanwhile, we still have no information about the new Club World seat coming next year on the A350s, though we do understand that it is likely to be retrofitted to the rest of the fleet (apart from the B747-400s, which are being retired over coming years). ba.com
