THE BIG PICTURE
BRITISH PHOTOGRAPHER MARTIN PARR travelled around the UK and to Italy, Spain and Argentina for his new book Beach Therapy.
Using a telephoto lens, he captures seaside crowds from a distance, transforming individuals into abstract patterns, as shown in this image of scores of bodyboarders in the Cornish town of St Ives. “I have a long-established affection for the beach as a place to photograph,” he says. “For me, it is a human laboratory where I can explore what is possible with the camera.” Published by Damiani; €40. damianieditore.com
