BA GOES RETRO
BRITISH AIRWAYS IS PAINTING
a series of aircraft with retro liveries in celebration of its centenary year. The first aircraft to receive a commemorative paintjob is a B747 jumbo (registration number G-BYGC), which has been given the 1964-1974 era British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC) livery. It will serve B747-operated routes until it is retired in 2023. BOAC, the predecessor of BA, combined with British European Airways to form the British Airways brand in 1974.
