FLYBMI has ceased all operations, grounding 17 aircraft that had been flying to 25 European cities. It blamed Brexit uncertainty and rises in fuel costs for the collapse.
NORWEGIAN continued to face financial headwinds as IAG said it would sell its share in the airline, ending talk of a takeover. The carrier announced it lost £131 million in 2018.
RYANAIR posted its first quarterly loss since 2014. The carrier’s Q3 results showed revenue up 9 per cent to €1.53 billion but a net loss of €20 million, excluding its recent acquisition of Laudamotion. Over the same period last year it made a €106 million profit after tax.
