RESPLENDENT RENOVATION
THE GRAND HOTEL QUELLENHOF
in Bad Ragaz has reopened after a five-month renovation costing SFr 45 million. The five-star hotel lies in Switzerland’s prestigious wellbeing resort alongside the Grand Hotel Hof Ragaz and the Palais Bad Ragaz. Claudio Carbone took charge of the interiors, with a 16-metre-high Swarovski chandelier illuminating the stairwell in hues of blue. Three new thermal water fountains have been installed in an ode to the 36.5-degree water found in the Tamina Gorge 777 years ago. Lavish touches are aplenty in the new 270 sqm King suite, adorned in European walnut with handmade furniture and hand-blown crystal chandeliers. Other new features include two restaurants overseen by chef Sven Wassmer. Memories serves classic Alpine cuisine, while the health-conscious Verve by Sven has a glass walk-in wine cellar with 4,000 bottles to pick from.
