SHORT-HAUL: LA TRAVERSEE DE PARIS, JAN­UARY 12

Paris revs up for this one-day event or­gan­ised by the “Vin­cennes en An­ci­ennes”, a club for vin­tage car afi­ciona­dos. More than 700 ve­hi­cles from sev­eral pe­ri­ods will drive through the streets of the cap­i­tal be­tween 8am and 12pm. This year’s edition pays homage to the cars of comic book char­ac­ters, in­clud­ing Tintin’s favourite – the Jeep. LONG-HAUL: BOS­TON WINE FES­TI­VAL, JAN­UARY 10-MARCH 27

This so­phis­ti­cated event takes place at Bos­ton Har­bor Ho­tel. The pro­gramme in­cludes four-course din­ners hosted by wine­mak­ers, sem­i­nars on fine wines, and tast­ing re­cep­tions fea­tur­ing 40 va­ri­eties.
