BA BIDS FAREWELL TO B747S

-

BRITISH AIRWAYS HAS SAID GOODBYE

to its final two Heathrow-based B747 aircraft, following the decision in July to retire the jumbo. To mark the occasion, the two B747s departed one after the other from Heathrow, before aircraft G-CIVY performed a fly-past of the southern runway. They then made their way to St Athan in Wales to be retired. British Airways’ Alex Cruz said: “The 747s have formed the backbone of our fleet for over 50 years. I know I speak for our customers and the many thousands of colleagues who have spent much of their careers alongside them when I say we will miss seeing them grace our skies.”
