Times are prosperous for the Geneva-based Swiss watch manufacturer Frederique Constant. The independent and family owned brand, founded 26 years ago by Aletta and Peter Stas, has recently posted impressive first half-year commercial results, achieving 26 per cent growth compared to 2013 – a record for the company.
Frederique Constant is known for being a formidable brand in the Accessible Luxury segment, offering high quality movements and watches at aggressive price points, with most of its watches costing between $1,000-$5,000.
“We are proud to have realised our best first half year ever, and it clearly proves that our product proposition – Accessible Luxury – continues to have great potential. The initial concept behind the brand was to create Swiss-made, high quality and innovative watches at sensible prices, to let more people enjoy luxury. Still today, it is this mission that drives our passion,” says Peter Stas.
As well as celebrating financial gains, the company is marking the 10th anniversary of its own proprietary movements. Since 2004 Frederique Constant has created fine in-house handcrafted movements. Up to now the brand has 15 in-house calibres, including the latest 2014 creation: the Heart Beat Manufacture FC-945 with Silicium Escapement Wheel, Silicium Anker and Silicium Plateau for improved accuracy and reliability.
