Times are pros­per­ous for the Geneva-based Swiss watch man­u­fac­turer Fred­erique Con­stant. The in­de­pen­dent and fam­ily owned brand, founded 26 years ago by Aletta and Peter Stas, has re­cently posted im­pres­sive first half-year com­mer­cial re­sults, achiev­ing 26 per cent growth com­pared to 2013 – a record for the company.

Fred­erique Con­stant is known for be­ing a for­mi­da­ble brand in the Ac­ces­si­ble Lux­ury seg­ment, of­fer­ing high qual­ity move­ments and watches at ag­gres­sive price points, with most of its watches cost­ing be­tween $1,000-$5,000.

“We are proud to have re­alised our best first half year ever, and it clearly proves that our prod­uct propo­si­tion – Ac­ces­si­ble Lux­ury – con­tin­ues to have great po­ten­tial. The ini­tial con­cept be­hind the brand was to cre­ate Swiss-made, high qual­ity and in­no­va­tive watches at sen­si­ble prices, to let more peo­ple en­joy lux­ury. Still to­day, it is this mis­sion that drives our pas­sion,” says Peter Stas.

As well as cel­e­brat­ing fi­nan­cial gains, the company is mark­ing the 10th an­niver­sary of its own pro­pri­etary move­ments. Since 2004 Fred­erique Con­stant has cre­ated fine in-house hand­crafted move­ments. Up to now the brand has 15 in-house cal­i­bres, in­clud­ing the lat­est 2014 cre­ation: the Heart Beat Man­u­fac­ture FC-945 with Sili­cium Es­cape­ment Wheel, Sili­cium Anker and Sili­cium Plateau for im­proved ac­cu­racy and re­li­a­bil­ity.
