HUBLOT’S BIG BANG GOES POP
What to do when you have a hugely successful range like Hublot’s Big Bang Ladies’ Chronograph? Create an even bigger statement by taking inspiration from the bold non-conformity of Andy Warhol’s Pop Art screen prints, that’s what. The ‘Big Bang Pop Art’ collection revels in maximalism with its 41mm case and riotous colour splashes that combine hot pink, cobalt blue, apple green and purple. Featuring a bezel set with 48 baguette precious stones: topazes for the blue, amethysts for the purple, sapphires for the pink and tsavorites for the green, and dials with multi-coloured counters it is reminiscent of a painter's palette. The vibrant look is completed by a strap in coloured alligator leather sewn onto rubber for comfort and flexibility. Inside beats the HUB 4300 movement, a self-winding mechanical chronograph with a date window at 4 o' clock. The Big Bang leads a trend for larger statement-piece ladies’ watches that revel in being loud and proud. The King of 1970s New York, famed for his appreciation of life on the wild side, would doubtless approve.
