CELEBRATING PETEY

PETER FERRIER, ONE OF THE ORIGINAL

employees at PPI Group, passed away late last year in his South Florida home. And while many of us here searched for whatever could be instantly construed as comfort — usually landing on the idea that he’d be spending the holidays with his beloved wife, Peggy, who had preceded him in death — some of us popped open some Petey-approved beverages and toasted a man who brought nothing but light, life, and laughter wherever he went.

Perhaps Peter Sellers could do justice reciting Petey’s unforgettable quips and retelling his legendary tales. Magazinesize and censorship considerations being what they are, readers will have to seek out and settle for in-person remembrances from his friends in the British Royal Navy, his coworkers from back when it was called Norwegian Caribbean Line, the passengers on any yacht they let him be captain on, the locals at his local, and the many PPI Group employees who adored him and the joy he brought to our workplace for more than 20 years. Our hearts go out to Peter’s dear family and to his many friends.

HE MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE WANTED THIS SORT OF IN- MAGAZINE FUSS, BUT FOR THOSE OF US WHO KNEW HIM, WE CAN’T HELP BUT CELEBRATE HIM.
