Mahogany Bay, Honduras
Mahogany Bay is a small beach resort developed by Carnival Corporation on the Bay Island of Roatán in Honduras. The resort includes 18 acres of beautifully landscaped tropical grounds and a 10-acre beach. These two distinct areas are linked by the Magical Flying Beach Chair, a chair lift much like you would see at a ski resort, and by a series of walkways.
Roatán is famous for its lush vegetation and wildlife, but many travelers visit to dive or snorkel at its famous coral reefs. Many cruise passengers going ashore at Mahogany Bay never leave the resort area. They spend their day lounging on the sandy beach or exploring the retail shops in the resort village. However, others take shore excursions to go horseback riding, visit the Gumbalimba Nature Park, or learn more about the local Garifuna tribe of Roatán who love to share their music, dancing, language, and food with visitors.
