VACHERON CONSTANTIN’S TRADITIONNELLE TWIN BEAT PERPETUAL CALENDAR WINS THE “INNOVATION” PRIZE AT THE GPHG 2019

-

In Geneva, on the 7th of this month, The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) awarded the “Innovation” prize to Vacheron Constantin’s Traditionnelle Twin Beat Perpetual Calendar. An authentically innovative model unveiled at the SIHH 2019, it reflects Vacheron Constantin’s two-fold technical and aesthetic expertise. This perpetual calendar watch is capable of beating at two different frequencies, thereby extending the four-day power reserve to at least 65 days.

“The pride taken by our Maison in designing timepieces stems from a vocation, a mission: to create beauty, to combine the excellence of Haute Horlogerie and horological complications with the magic of innovation, by pushing the limits of feasibility. The Traditionnelle Twin Beat Perpetual Calendar is a perfect illustration of collective intelligence and the incentive to express ideas characterising our workshops. We are proud that it is thus recognised by our peers and rewarded here this evening. This prize belongs to our watchmakers, engineers, developers and artisans, the men and women who work in our Manufacture to bring La Belle Haute Horlogerie to life”, said Louis Ferla, CEO of Vacheron Constantin, during the GPHG evening.

During its 265 years of existence, Vacheron Constantin has never ceased to innovate on both technical and aesthetic levels. 2019 will go down in history as the year of a launch that will undoubtedly open whole new horizons for Haute Horlogerie, with the Traditional Twin Beat perpetual calendar, a smoothly user-controlled, manual-winding dual-frequency watch.

When worn, the Traditionnelle Twin Beat Perpetual Calendar beats at a high frequency that is aligned with modern active lifestyles, while displaying the hours, minutes, date, month, leap-year cycle and power reserve. When the watch is not being worn, its owner can reduce the energy consumption of the in-house developed calibre 3610 QP by pressing a pusher, thus endowing the watch with an extended power reserve of at least 65 days.
