THE MACALLAN HOSTED A LUXURY NETWORKING NIGHT WITH A TASTING JOURNEY OF SOME EXCEPTIONAL WHISKIES

-

September has always marked the comeback of event season in the UAE after a summer away in ultra luxe destinations such as Monte Carlo, Geneva and the south of France. And when it comes to networking events, The Macallan know how to put on a show, setting the bar high on luxury experiences in and amongst Dubai’s finest.

For The Macallan, educating their clients is just as important as entertaining them. As the first £140 million state-of-the-art distillery opened its doors in Scotland’s Speyside last year, it serves as a look into the whisky making process and The Macallan’s unrivalled commitment to the mastery of wood and spirit since 1824.

The art of tasting whisky is something the team at The Macallan are profoundly passionate about – not only to honour the brand’s historical legacy, but to create a level of responsibility and awareness on The Macallan’s story, diversity and complexity.

Set in the atmospheric and sophisticated Cigar Room in Fairmont The Palm, the night unravelled with members of The Luxury Network and their clients who were privy to a first-class presentation helmed by Jodie Moir, The Macallan’s Regional Brand Ambassador for the Middle East.

Jodie took guests on an intensely rich tasting journey, allowing for an immersive and interactive experience for all to be had.

Moir first introduced the 12-year-old The Macallan Triple Cask which is a delicate and elegant expression using a marriage of Ex American Bourbon casks, European Sherry Oak casks and American Sherry Oak Casks. It had a floral and fruity taste with a hint of spice.

Between rounds of delectable luxury canapés, the 15-year-old The Macallan Triple Cask was brought out. This is known for its smooth, oily and rewarding feel on the palate, using the same three casks as the previous expression but focusing slightly more on the Sherry style casks. Chocolate, vanilla and cinnamon linger on the palate, giving you a full and immersive taste overall.

The evening ended on a high with The Macallan Rare Cask. This is a 100% Sherry seasoned expression from The Macallan using less than 1% of the casks on The Macallan estate – some of which are from Sherry Bodagas which are no longer in business, thus this was a rare treat. The Macallan Rare Cask is heaped in expression, beautifully rounded with dried fruits, caramel and vanilla notes – a fitting finale to a night filled with character in both atmosphere and whisky.
