Iran’s SBU to host Int’l Congress of Endocrine Disorders
The 12th International Congress of Endocrine Disorders will be held at Shahid Beheshti University (SBU) of Tehran from November 14-16. The congress will be organized by the university’s Research Institute for Endocrine Science (RIES) and Iran Endocrine Society (IES). Dr. Shahram Alamdari, the RIES’S deputy and the secretary of the congress, told ISNA that SBU’S International Convention Center will be host to university professors and students interested in endocrine studies.
Alamdari listed the main topics of the 12th edition of the congress as thyroid disorders, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia, pituitary disorders, adrenal disorders, reproductive endocrinology, osteoporosis and metabolic bone disorders, obesity and precision medicine.
The secretary of the congress, who is also an associate professor of internal medicine and endocrinology at SBU said that the country’s endocrine residents will receive continuous trainings during the event and a compulsory retraining program related to thyroid and diabetes one day ahead of the opening ceremony.
Prominent professors from Iran and other countries will attend the congress, adding speakers from France, Italy, Lebanon and two Iranian professors from the US will familiarize the participants with recent scientific achievements of the field, he added.
Commenting on a variety of audience attending the congress, Alamdari said endocrinologist and internists will make up the main participants, along with GPS, surgeons, nutritionists and other practitioners of relevant fields.
He further said the event aims to introduce recent scientific achievements and researches conducted in endocrinology in Iran and the world.
More than 300 articles were submitted to the secretariat of the congress, of which 24 were voted by the final jury for presentation at the congress, Alamdari concluded.
