to sign a joint MOU between the Central Insurance of IR Iran and the Vice-presidency for Science and Technology, IRNA reported.

Commenting on fruitful negotiations and consultations between the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology and officials of Iranian insurance companies in the past four years to solve the problems faced by those involved in running domestic startups, he said the domestic insurance industry is currently aware of the capabilities of Iranian NTBFS for providing less expensive and more accessible service and, thus, has adopted a new attitude to this sector.

Certain prerequisites are required to be met for developing a knowledge-based economy, Sattari stressed, calling on the domestic insurance industry to step forward and become a pioneer in accompanying and supporting those involved in the country’s knowledge-based sector.

He added the signing of Sunday’s MOU between the Central Insurance of IR Iran and the Vicepresidency for Science and Technology will definitely prepare the ground for the development and improvement of the domestic insurance sector through the assistance of the country’s NTBFS.

The Iranian vice president noted that among the problems the country’s knowledge-based sector is currently faced with are failing to have any physical possession or tangible property and, thus, give banks the guarantees they require, adding it is absolutely essential to expand insurance services to support those involved in this sector of the country.

He said the signing of the MOU will help new startups enter the insurance industry and make it possible to provide new insurance services.

The MOU was signed by Sattari and the Gholamreza Soleimani, the representative of the Central Insurance of IR Iran.
