Aus­tralia to stage Ira­nian play ‘Manus’

The doc­u­men­tary play ‘Manus’, writ­ten by Leila Hek­mat­nia and Key­van Sar­reshteh and di­rected by Nazanin Sa­hamizadeh, will go on stage at Ade­laide Fes­ti­val in Aus­tralia in early March.

‘Manus’ will be staged at Ade­laide Fes­ti­val in Aus­tralia this March, Mehr News Agency re­ported.

The fes­ti­val will run from March 1 to 7, and ‘Manus’ will have five per­for­mances in the Aus­tralian fes­ti­val.

‘Manus’ is a doc­u­men­tary play in a ver­ba­tim from nar­rat­ing the life story of eight Ira­nian im­mi­grants who are im­pris­oned in Manus and Nauru is­lands on their way to Aus­tralia.

The play dis­cusses the rea­sons be­hind the im­mi­gra­tion of these eight peo­ple, and what hap­pens dur­ing their travel and their time in prison.
