Mouteh 10-month gold output at 346 kilograms
Production from Mouteh Gold Mine in Isfahan Province amounted to 346 kilograms in the 10 months to January 20, reported Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
Alireza Talari, the managing director of the mining complex, added that based on plans, the output of the mining complex for the 10-month period was set at 234 kilograms of gold, according to IRNA.
The official added that the annual production of the complex will reach 400 kilograms by March 20.
The complex is implementing gold extraction projects which include enrichment of low-grade ores, treatment of tailings and renovation of technology to reduce power pollution as well as improvement of quality.
Mouteh, located in the city of Barkhar-e Meymeh, is estimated to produce over 300 kilograms of gold per year.
According to Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade figures, Iran has 15 gold mines, of which 12 are active.
Gold exploration is underway in most provinces, including East Azarbaijan, West Azarbaijan, Kurdestan, Kerman, Khorasan Razavi, South Khorasan, Isfahan, Yazd, Markazi, Qom, Hamedan and Zanjan.
Iran’s National Geology and Mineral Exploration Organization put Iran’s total proven and probable gold reserves at 320 tons.
The provinces of Tehran, Isfahan, Khorasan Razavi and East Azarbaijan are top gold producing hubs.
