Iran envoy calls for removal of trade barriers with Pakistan
Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost called for the removal of trade barriers between Iran’s Sistan-baluchestan and Pakistan’s Balochistan provinces to promote economic ties.
Honardoost, who was speaking in a meeting with Balochistan Assembly Speaker Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo in the southwestern city of Quetta said the two neighboring provinces of Iran and Pakistan have immense trade potential which needs to be explored, nation.com.pk reported on Saturday.
The two sides also discussed ways to expand Iran-pakistan ties especially in the trade sector.
Bizenjo stated that Pakistan should benefit from Iran’s experience in trade sector.
He also underlined the need to strengthen border relations between the two countries by using the capacities of Iran’s Sistan-baluchestan and Pakistan’s Balochistan provinces.
Promoting parliamentary cooperation between Iran and Pakistan also came under discussion during the meeting.
Honardoost and Bizenjo also discussed cooperation in road, rail and air transportation sectors.
Honardoost also invited Bizenjo to visit Iran.
