Iranian cartoonist Pakdel grabs Indonesian top prize
Iranian cartoonist Alireza Pakdel won the ¿rst prize in the Professional Category of the PAPB International Cartoon Festival 2019, Indonesia.
The second and third prizes went to M. Syaifuddin from Indonesia and Alexander Dubovsky from Ukraine.

Pakdel began his activities in 1994 as a cartoonist for ‘Golaqa’ and ‘Hey, Children Golaqa’ magazines.
He experienced the world of professional caricatures in press and was always ready to take part in domestic and international festivals. He won 70 domestic and international prizes of which 40 were international awards.
Among the most important international awards is the Merit Award at the 31st Aydõn Doğan Cartoon Contest in Turkey (2014) which is the equivalent of Academy Awards in terms of signi¿cance. He also received awards in a Portuguese cartoon festival for three consecutive years. Furthermore, he won three prizes of Don Quixote International Cartoon Festival in Germany.
