Iran among world’s top 10 tourism hubs

Iran is ranked among top 10 tourism hubs in the world, said the head of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicraft­s and Tourism Organizati­on (ICHHTO). Ali Asghar-mounesan, who is also a vice president, added that Iran’s tourism industry bene¿ts from the numerous natural and historical attraction­s in the country, IRNA wrote.

He told reporters in Iran’s central province of Yazd that the ranking shows that all cities of the country have speci¿c tourism capacity and the majority of foreign tourists who recently traveled to Iran visited the must-see and historical monuments of the country.”

He pointed to tourism attraction­s in the west of the country which have unique natural and historical capacities, but are not well-known.

“Effective steps have been taken to guide tourists to these areas given the fact that the western provinces enjoy high tourism potentials that can generate employment and stimulate the economy.”

He further pointed out, “Western part of the country has unique railroad connection­s that tourists can take advantage of to view the breathtaki­ng sceneries of this region.”

He disclosed that a tourism train which will leave for the western part of the country on February 20 will stop over in 19 stations so that the tourists can enjoy the beauties of the cities.

Mounesan was in Yazd to attend the unveiling ceremony of Yazd Registrati­on Plaque as World Heritage City in which the governor general and other provincial of¿cials were also present.
