The Iranian short films of this section are ‘Emergency Situation,’ directed by Maryam Esmikhani; ‘Little Panda, Big Panda,’ directed by Sahar Khoshnam; and ‘Yushid,’ directed by Sahar Khoshchashman. This year, Fiff will open in Tehran on May 26 and run through June 2. This major film festival was scheduled to be held in April 2020; however, amid growing concerns over the coronavirus during March 2020, the organizers postponed it to a later time in June, which was also canceled.

Since its establishment in 1982, the Fajr Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

The 39th edition of the national version of the festival was held from January 31 to February 10.
