Iran gov’t seeks to boost employment, protect businesses: Minister

-

The Iranian administration under President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi seeks to boost employment as well as domestic output and protect businesses by implementing a plan to support industrial and production units.

Iranian Minister Industry, Mine and Trade Reza Fatemi-amin made the remarks in an address to an open session of the Parliament on Sunday about a ministry proposal for backing domestic units, IRNA reported.

He added the country’s wealth depends on its businesses, which are required to be expanded and protected against harms to contribute to the domestic production and employment.

The minister noted that the proposal submitted to the Parliament has the backing of the president and his administration.

Fatemi-amin said the general outlines of the proposed plan comprise items pertaining to ensuring protection for the domestic employment and production sectors as well as businesses.

He added numerous businesses have been set up in the country, of which some are old and in need of special support.

The minister expressed hope that the lawmakers would vote in favor of the proposed plan’s general outlines, as even if it has flaws, they can be corrected in the legislative body’s Industries and Mines Committee.
