Leader urges focus on national, Islamic-iranian identity

Ayatollah hamenei made the remarks in a meeting with a group of Iranian teachers and education officials in Tehran on Wednesday morning, emphasi ing that the current generation of students should remain vigilant against the obsolete astern and Western civili ations, Tasnim ews Agency reported. The eader stressed the important role that Iranian teachers play in developing a modern Islamic civili ation, praising their role as well as that of the ducation Ministry’s personnel in training a civili ation-creating generation”. Ayatollah hamenei also lauded the continuation of efforts by the domestic education sector during the I -1 pandemic. The eader emphasi ed that the younger generation should focus on their national and Islamic-iranian identity, develop self-confidence and resistance, improve their knowledge of the late founder of the Islamic epublic, Imam homeini, as well as his aspirations, and try to raise their scientific skills. Ayatollah hamenei also pointed to the sublime goal of building a modern and prosperous Islamic civili ation, adding, Human resources account for the infrastructure of every civili ation, and the founders of the modern Islamic civili ation are the generation now at the teachers’ disposal. Therefore, the importance and value of teaching should be comprehended from this angle.” This generation of Iranian students with
such a tremendous goal must own the Iranian-islamic identity, firm and deep beliefs, and self-confidence, be self-made, vigilant in the face of the obsolete civili ations of ast and West, and efficient in order to be able to shape that great civili ation,” the eader stated. In a world where everybody, either the ast or the West, is bullying, the future generation must learn the value and importance of resistance from now so that they would create the civili ation in light of these teachings and make the nation and the country dignified,” Ayatollah hamenei added. The eader also stressed the need to familiari e students with the Islamic lifestyle, social cooperation, research, voluntary activities, battling social harms, and the law of obedience. Ayatollah hamenei also called for efforts to carry out the document on fundamental reform of education in a full and integrated manner. More than a decade ago, the eader outlined the plan for fundamental reform of the educational system in Iran. Ayatollah hamenei has already described bringing about reform in the educational system as a deep process, saying, The plans which en oy depth do not produce results immediately. ased on this, implementing the plan for fundamental reform of the educational system re“uires extensive research in different areas so that the educational system is directed into the right channel.”
