Adopting Strategy On IP Effective In Development
TEHRAN – Head of the Eighth National Conference on Intellectual Property and Copyrights says adopting strategy on intellectual property, copyrights and patent is not enough to protect culture and art but it can help the country move in direction of development.
Speaking in the opening ceremony of the conference in Tehran, Seyed Hadi Hosseini said that the conference is one of those conferences which has gained a significant status among the experts for protecting cultural and art works.
He added that this year’s conference is not focused on one item and it has a general view on arts and culture.
He noted that cultural and art issue has great impact in the development of countries and it deserves to adopt some strategies on it.
Hosseini said that culture should be taken seriously especially in current situation which the country is experiencing.
He added that the country needs roadmaps in any field and intellectual property and patent is one of them. He went on to say that to prepare a document and roadmap on it, all aspects should be taken into consideration.
He added that adopting a roadmap can protect the culture and it can attract foreign investment because of copyrights.
He reiterated that laws should be levied in a way to safeguard the stand of cultural and art works.
Meanwhile Vice-President on Legal Affairs Laya Joneydi said that today world is after changing the approach from monopoly to balance.
He added that a well-developed legal system is needed in any developed country to protect intellectual property right, adding that all should work together to solve the problem.
Intellectual property (or IP) refers to creative work which can be treated as an asset or physical property. Intellectual property rights fall principally into four main areas; copyright, trademarks, design rights and patents.
