AFC Pres­i­dent hails progress of foot­ball in Syria

AFC Pres­i­dent Shaikh Sal­man bin Ebrahim Al Khal­ifa to­day held dis­cus­sions with the Syria FA Pres­i­dent Muhammed Fadi Al-Dab­bas, who is vis­it­ing the King­dom of Bahrain.

AFC Pres­i­dent wel­comed Al-Dab­bas and con­grat­u­lated the Syria FA ef­forts to de­velop the game in Syria, point­ing out the im­por­tant po­si­tion of Syr­ian foot­ball at the Asian level and recog­nis­ing their per­for­mances in reach­ing the Asian play-offs in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Qual­i­fiers.

Shaikh Sal­man also ex­plained the AFC’s fu­ture plans to de­velop foot­ball in Asia, stress­ing that the con­tin­u­ous co-op­er­a­tion and co-or­di­na­tion with Mem­ber As­so­ci­a­tions is the key to achiev­ing the AFC’s com­mon goals.

In re­turn, the Syria FA Pres­i­dent ex­plained Syr­ian na­tional team prepa­ra­tions for AFC Asian Cup UAE 2019, and said that he is con­fi­dent that the team will meet the hopes of Syr­ian fans be­cause of the team’s strong de­sire. He also pointed out that Syria is ben­e­fit­ing from the per­for­mances of their star play­ers, who showed their ca­pa­bil­i­ties in the last few years.

Al-Dab­bas also hailed Shaikh Sal­man’s ef­forts to lead Asian foot­ball to more suc­cess and he stressed that Syria FA will sup­port the AFC’s fu­ture de­vel­op­ment plans.
